This drone image was taken just hours after the Navy Class of 2019 graduated from the US Naval Academy. 1,052 covers sprinkler the football field. The empty stadium and silence said a lot to me when I snapped this image. My 4 years at the Academy were surreal. Everything was loud. We never seemed to stop moving. It was like drinking out of a firehose. I regained my sense of smell, sight, and hearing about an hour after I tossed my cover in the air. I could breath again! I could see and smell things “in real life” again. Not only was I minutes from having graduated, I already missed the place! I’ll bet these graduates had some of the same odd feelings.
